She scrambled back to the couch, chocolate syrup and a spoon added to the basket of her arms. The first bite melted without toppings, smooth, untainted, and nearly tasteless in her mind. The Hershey's bottle flipped over, dropping a layer of syrup in the bottom of a bowl before drizzling it over the top of mounds of vanilla.

"Sure you don't want some crushed nuts to go with that?" Kina's eyebrow rose nearly into her hairline, having been leaning in the doorway to the living room the last ten minutes.
